Hi everyone, As I said in my Chocola post, I've been really busy making some costumes for myself and my friends on top of all my school work and still trying to stay social. This year I've decided to cosplay as Yuno Gasai and get a little bit crazy. Yuno Gasai is the main female character in the anime series Future Diary. Yuno is the definition of a yandere and is often hailed as the most well written yandere ever. Yuno is most well known for being a crazy femme fatale, her obsession for the main male character Yukiteru Amano and her bright pink hair. Yuno wears many different outfits through out the series, but my favorite is the black dress. This dress is simple and elegant and was really fun and very cheap to make (about $20 for the dress) the wig I got was from Arda Wigs, the wig it of really good quality, but it was quite expensive when shipping was added in and it arrived with more than a few tangles in it, even after the little amounts of styling I had to do I'm still getting knots out of the wig.
I made the bodice of the dress form a large shirt and the skirt from a stretchy material with a shiny finish using the circle technique. The reference video I used can be found here. I also used some leftover ribbon to make a sash to cover the seams. I did vary my design from the original because I still have limited skills and wasn't sure how to approach the more complex deign, but I really liked how it turned out regardless. But this cosplay isn't made by the dress, it's made by the accessories. Yuno wears thigh high stockings with garters, I decided not to do this because I felt it wasn't appropriate for my friends party. So I've substituted the stockings with knee high socks made from the same material. Yuno also wears very long boots that go over her knees. I don't own any and because of the wig price I decided to save more money by using some black heeled boots that I already own. It looks just as good and the knee high socks gives off an even cuter look, adding to the yandere feel of cute and killer. Happy cosplaying, -Jasmine
